Write up/Interview in Modern Fix Magazine

Hostile Groove is an upcomming band from Massachusetts soon to rise to the top of the LA music scene and the
world in general. After moving to the Los Angeles area to attend Musicians Institute and hone their skills as solid musicians,
Shawn McPherson, brain child/front-man/guitarist, and drummer Dan Welby, soon met their Texan counterpartner Aric Wright to
fill in the void of former bass player, Dale McPherson, currently of "Getting Even". Hostile Groove is an aggressive metal
trio with a wide range of gutteral screams, low end growls and energetic staccato rhymes style vocals. If you haven't heard
of them yet, here's a little preview that might refresh some memories. Does the movie "Alien" ring a bell? If it does than
here is the tie in: Hostile Groove would fairly represent the Mother of all Mother aliens, coupled with their debut full length
CD "Unleash The Massattack" providing as the wicked alien acid blood that burns through flesh, concrete, and steel, whiletheir
independent label "Massattack Records" would rightly act as the post-pod-ling that attaches itself to one's face giving one
no option other than death or submission. Like the aliens, Hostile Groove id headed for world domination. I imagine they will
soon be invading your town to take over and impregnate you with their infectous metal. So, for the time being here is a little
bit of information to prepare you for the slaughter. Be forewarned, however, that there is no escaping certain death...say
your prayers now...
Urban Metal Scenestress: How long has Hostile Groove been together? Shawn: Hostile
Groove formed in 95 in Uxbridge, MA and in "99 Dan and I moved to Hollywood where we met Aric. we have been gigging in the
L.A. area now for over two years.
What are you doing or what had you accomplished before moving to L.A.? We
put out a couple of self produced demos and built a solid fan base by gigging in and around the New England area.
After
moving to L.A. what have you accomplished before now? We've been gigging alot, shot two music vidoes, have gained great
press, and built up a solid fan base. We've also produced and recorded our first full legth album "Unleash The Massattack"
which was released February 7th to a packed house at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, and are currently doing business
as Massattack Records.
What is the band doing at the present moment? Right now Hostile Groove is promoting
the new CD. We're having an online CD release/video premiere party at our website www.hostilegroove.com where the new CD is
available for only $6. We're gigging around L.A. to promote the album and starting to book mini tours in and around California.
What are your plans for the future Keep moving forward and exploring new options. We're working on going
to Massachusetts for an East Coast tour within the next few months to release the new CD to our fans back home. We're also
working on a new home video (DVD) that will have all of our music videos and some live/behind the scenes footage that we're
hoping to have finished by the end of this year. Other than that, we're promoting for the CD and when there's time, writing
material for a follow-up album.
When will we know our time is up When we give up. -U.M.S.
